Biografie
V roce 1943 hrál italského majora ve válečném filmu 20th Century Fox Chetniks! The Fighting Guerrillas. Hrál roli Lucase (kapitána lodi) v hororovém filmu Stvoření z Černé laguny z roku 1954 s Benem Chapmanem jako hlavním monstrem; Paiva by tuto roli zopakoval v pokračování filmu Revenge of the Creature následujícího roku. Objevil se ve více než 250 filmech.
