Biografie
Nejznámější je z jeho role tvrdého policejního kapitána v televizním seriálu Starsky and Hutch ze sedmdesátých let. Další významné úvěry zahrnují anglicky mluvený film Luise Buñuela "The Young One" (1960), kde hraje jazzového hudebníka, který utíká před lynčovacím davem, a "One Potato, Two Potato" (1964), kde dostal šanci ukázat měkčí stránku jako muž bojující za získání rodičovských práv své nevlastní dcery.
