Allen Jenkins

Z Wikipedie, svobodné encyklopedie. Allen Jenkins (9. dubna 1900 20. července 1974) byl americký charakterový herec na jevišti, plátně a televizi. Narodil se jako Alfred McGonegal na Staten Island v New Yorku. Studoval na American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ve svém prvním vystoupení na scéně tančil vedle Jamese Cagneyho v refrénu mimo-Broadwayového muzikálu s názvem Pitter-Patter. Vydělal pět dolarů týdně. Také se objevil tisíckrát na Broadwayi mezi lety 1924 a 1962, včetně The Front Page s Lee Tracy (1928). Jeho velký zlom přišel, když nahradil Spencera Tracyho na tři týdny v broadwayské hře The Last Mile. Byl povolán do Hollywoodu Darryl F. Zanuckem a poprvé podepsal smlouvu s Paramount Pictures a krátce poté s Warnerem.
