Narodila se 30. října 1975 v Portlandu v Oregonu, je americká herečka a komik. Studovala herectví na Juilliard School v New Yorku a poprvé se proslavila v roce 1999 jako Tammi Littlenut v seriálu Comedy Central Strangers With Candy. Thayer získala vedlejší role v komediálních filmech Hitch, Accepted a Forgetting Sarah Marshall, stejně jako v mnoha televizních seriálech, včetně Will & Grace, Nip / Tuck, 30 Rock, House, New Girl, Portlandia, Arrested Development, Brooklyn Nine-Nine a Adult Swim série Eagleheart a Robot Chicken.
