Je rodák z Ilkley, Yorkshire, Anglie, ale jeho dětství strávil převážně v Shrewbury, Shropshire, England, jeho láska k herectví byla zapálena v raném věku. Jeho počátky v oblasti herectví lze vysledovat z jeho jevištních vystoupení v Shrewsbury Music Hall. Ve věku 20 let se mladistvý obličej Max Brown poprvé objevil v televizi v seriálu Grange Hill v roce 2001.
