"Ethel Merman" (16. ledna 1908 - 15. února 1984) byla americká herečka a zpěvačka. Známá především pro svůj silný hlas a role v hudebním divadle, byla nazvána "nespornou první dámou hudební komedie". Mezi mnoha standardy zavedenými Mermanem v broadwayských muzikálech jsou "I Got Rhythm", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "I Get a Kick Out of You", "It's De-Lovely", "Friendship", "You're the Top", "Anything Goes" a "There's No Business Like Show Business", která se později stala její tematickou písní.
